AgSquared Garners 9,000+ Users in 6 Years

After presenting at the 2014 Ag Innovation Showcase, AgSquared acquired Local Dirt, a pioneering online local food marketplace and received SBIR Phase I and II funding from USDA and STTR Phase I funding from NSF. Through the Showcase, AgSquared was able to connect with potential investors, strategic partners, and key individuals in the agricultural industry, gaining insight into the industry’s challenges, opportunities and funding trends.

Founders Jeff Froikin Gordon and Guilia Stellari recognized the problems small farmers faced in improving their production practices and maximizing sustainability. To address these issues, they created AgSquared in 2009 to become what they hoped would be the perfect solution - record keeping software talior-made for small farms .

AgSquared uses cloud-based software to help small-scale producers gain insight into their farm production levels. This software enables players in the produce supply chain – including farmers, input suppliers, crop consultants, and produce brokers – to capture agronomic data about their farms to be used to increase farming efficiency and reduce produce waste. Combining a number of tools from planning to management to record-keeping to analysis, AgSquared seeks to ensure its 7,000 plus farms run smoothly and effectively.

AgSquared now assists over 9,000 farmers with over 165,000 plantings, managing over 28,000 fields. Learn more about them here.
